Qingdoa has allegedly chosen to allow well known aviation company Pratt & Whitney to supply them with their Purepower geared turbofan (GTF) engine. With an order placed of 18 GTFs to be installed into their newly bought Airbus A320neo aircrafts. Per Pratt and Whitney, the GTF will,” reduce fuel consumption by 16% minimize regulated emissions by 50%, and lower noise by 75 %.” The GTF has been making a well-known name for its self already being implemented in 24 aircrafts in a total of 8 airlines worldwide.
Being a newer company that has been in operation since 2014 Qindoa wants to promote a more cleanlier travel for its customers and differentiate themselves from their competitors in the crazy Chinese airline market.
When asked, what might the newer engines might contribute Tang Huanguang, Qingdoa Airlines official chairman stated that,” Pratt & Whitney's PurePower aircraft engine creates the cleaner, greener and quieter flight experience we are looking for our passengers” and continued to express they they are
“glad to deploy this next-generation engine to power our success in the increasingly competitive airline market in China.”
Pratt and Whitney are pleased to be able to supply their products to help better companies and aircrafts. Including announced and unannounced firm and option engine orders Pratt & Whitney have received just about a total of 8400 going out to more than 80 customers across the globe.
In recent news Pratt and Whitney have has entered in contract with Sat Air in which P&W “which provides aftermarket services and solutions for the civil aerospace industry.” In agreement with the contract SatAir group will begin to distribute P&Ws PW400 engine thrust reverser parts globally
