Established in 1989, with headquarters in Ried Im Innkreis, Upper Austria, FACC AG (formerly Fisher Advanced Composite Components) is a Sino-Austrian aircraft components manufacturer, but mostly active in the field of plastic processing. Manufacturer such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier get their airplane interior and lightweight components from FAAC.
Pratt and Whitney Canada (PWC) is a division of bigger US – based Pratt & Whitney, which is also a unit of United Technologies. PWC is located In Canada and it is an aircraft engine parts manufacturer. In spite of the fact that Pratt & Whitney Canada is a division of Pratt & Whitney, it does its particular research, invention and advertising, as well as, fabricating its own engines.
Pratt & Whitney Canada PurePower PW200 engine fan cases will be supplier by FACC, as part of a recently product and market section. It is the first time, FACC will be manufacturing engine fan cases at their Austrian location are going to be used on a diversity of business jets.
The fan cases are produced with hybrid metal and composite construction, therefore it is worth pin pointing that their weight it is reduced due to the inventive construction, as stated by FACC. Although the did not divulge the ultimate weight reduction, FACC says it expects the reduced weight to be remarkable.
