A positive charge occurs when an object comes into the field of view of the laser, and a negative charge emits when an object leaves the field of view. These sensors are most commonly used in automatic doors because the infrared sensors can detect when there is body movement nearby.
Ultrasonic sensors are used to measure the distance of objects. They send out sound waves and interpret how long it takes for the echoes produced to bounce back and be received by the same sensor.
