• Speed sensors are used to, as the name suggests, detect speed. This type of sensor is typically used to synchronize the speed of multiple motors. One of the motors is a main motor acting as a transmitter while the remaining motors act as receivers.
• Temperature sensors measure temperature using an electrical signal. These sensors fall under two categories: contact type and non-contact type sensors. • PIR sensors measure infrared light radiation emitted from objects. This type of sensor is split into two parts, both parts sensitive to infrared radiation. A positive charge occurs when an object comes into the field of view of the laser, and a negative charge emits when an object leaves the field of view. These sensors are most commonly used in automatic doors because the infrared sensors can detect when there is body movement nearby.
• Ultrasonic sensors are used to measure the distance of objects. They send out sound waves and interpret how long it takes for the echoes produced to bounce back and be received by the same sensor.
