Bombardier’s Commercial Aircraft division has recently unveiled that have reached a new five-year extended Authorized Service Facility (ASF) agreement with Australian aerospace company Hawker Pacific. The new deal was largely expected by those familiar with Bombardier since Hawker had already been collaborating with Bombardier since 2007.
This updated ASF agreement authorizes Hawker Pacific to perform all upgrade and maintenance duties on a number of different Bombardier Corp aircraft, chief among which are the Dash 8 and the Q Series. Slowly but surely Bombardier has been expanding their fleet in the Asia-Pacific region, and new ASF deals such as this will be crucial towards fleet upkeep.
"We're very pleased to extend our contract with Hawker Pacific as one of our trusted Q Series Aircraft Authorized Service Facilities," said Todd Young, Vice President and General Manager, Customer Services, Bombardier Commercial Aircraft. "Hawker Pacific has been providing maintenance expertise and first-class customer service to our Asia-Pacific aircraft operators for over eight years and has a reputation for consistently meeting our customers' needs. I am confident that this level of service will continue."
Although many may think of Airbus or Boeing when it comes to prominent aircraft manufacturers, Bombardier Corp is actually the largest producer of planes in the entire world. Just this past year, Bombardier had total revenues in excess of $18 billion. By delivering reliable and efficient products, they have become a leader in the aerospace industry.
