New Amphenol Amperage Connection System Rated To 70 A

Amphenol Industrial Group has announced that they will now be offering a new medium amperage connection system that offers 70 A of continuous current with the ePower Lite offering an operating voltage of 800 Vdc. These connectors were designed for hybrid/electric vehicle markets and feature a lightweight plastic shell for compact design and to offer substantial weight/space savings in vehicle architectures across the industry. Featuring a 2, 3 and 4-way systems with optional HVIL/ EMI shielding, the ePower-Lite offeres improved safety and performance. Built to meet the ever-growing demand for medium voltage and medium amperage applications, the Amphenol’s ePower-Lite connector series incorporates 3.6-mm terminals with RADSOK technology patented by Amphenol.

The RADSOK technology allows for lower insertion force, higher current ratings and lower contact resistance and temperature with no mechanical assistance required. Touch-proof and RoHS compliant, these connectors can be used for charging anywhere a sealed medium powered connector is required and can be mated a minimum of 100 times. Amphenol’s ePower-Lite connectors also come with an IP67 rating and a operating temp range from -40 to 125 Celsius and an estimated UL 84V-0 flammability rating.
