Gregory Polek wrote an article for AIN Online talking about how Airbus has been under a lot of heat in order to his 2016 delivery goals. It seems as if CFO Harald Wilhelm is having trouble with certain suppliers as he has having problems resolving issues. In order to meet the goal for A350 airplane goal, Airbus Group would need to delivery 24 more planes. As of October 26th 2016, the company already has plans of delivering in 50 more A350s by the end of the year. In total, this would bring Airbus to 670 airplanes by the end of the year.
In the fourth quarter alone, the company will be set to deliver over 200 airplanes.
At the company’s third quarter earnings presentation, the CFO felt encouraged by how the company is running during the late summer and early fall seasons.
However, the company’s third quarter was a little though. Here is what CFO Harald Wilhelm says about this.
“The supply chain remains a concern. We have to muddle through that in 2016. I have to say…this is not the time to celebrate success. They need to be totally focused, and they’re not yet there where they need to be for the ramp-up in 2017. But 2016 we know how to handle.”
Airbus Industries was founded in 1970 with headquarters located in Blagnac, France. There are over 70,000 employees that work for Airbus worldwide. Blagnac is a suburb of Toulouse.
